About Mr. Chhun

A little about me.  I am an avid runner who enjoys competing in triathlons.  My favorite distances to run are 5k and half marathons.  My biggest accomplishment in sports is completing a full distance Ironman triathlon and learning to swim as an adult.

In 2004 I graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry from California State University of Long Beach.  I earned a Single Subject teaching credential in Chemistry in 2006.  In 2010 I graduated with a M.A. in Educational Administration from California State University of Dominguez Hills.  I am currently working on becoming a National Board Certified teacher.

I've been at Fleming Middle School since the fall of 2004.  I love teaching science and pushing students to reach their full potential.  I hope that by the time students leave my class they 1) take responsibility for themselves, 2) learn how to become a successful student, 3) develop good character, and 4) learn some science.

Next Generations Science Standards

Next Generation Science Standards will pave the way for our future scientists and engineers. There is more of a focus on the learning process and an integration of engineering with these standards. The NGSS lay out the disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts that students should master in preparation for college and careers.
